Military tank exhaust fumes extracted using Kingspan Ventria top hung windows

Leopard tanks for the Swiss army are manufactured and maintained In Steffisburg, Switzerland. Real AG – Certified Partner in Switzerland – was granted the contract during renovation of the building to place 2.2 km of glass roofs with 120 integrated top hung windows for natural ventilation.

Replacement of polyester skylights with glass roofs

In the context of illumination and sustainability, the old polyester skylights were replaced by glass roofs of the type Arcilite. These are thermally separated glass roofs with an inclination of 45°. The result:  an enormous increase in daylight access.

Sustainable natural ventilation based on updrafts

120 Ventria top hung windows have been included in the glass roofs which ensure that exhaust fumes from the Leopard tanks are extracted in an energy-efficient way – on the basis of updrafts.

Healthy working conditions

The above daylight and ventilation systems ensure that the Swiss army technicians can carry out maintenance to the Leopard tanks in a pleasant, healthy manner.
